Rockwood man charged with first degree murder in Cumberland County shooting

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A Rockwood man is facing a first degree murder charge after a deadly shooting over the weekend.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to the shooting in the 200 block of George Anna Drive.

Upon arrival, deputes located the victim, Michael Kerley.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Kerley received medical attention, but was later pronounced dead on scene.

During the investigation, TBI agents determined Devin Schillinger, was responsible for shooting Kerley.

Later that night, Schillinger was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

He is being charged with First Degree Murder and is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
