Roger Federer Will Now Play For His 8th Career Wimbledon Title
Roger Federer will play Novak Djokovic for a record eighth Wimbledon title.
The 17-time major champion beat Andy Murray 7-5, 7-5, 6-4 Friday in the semifinals to reach the championship match at the All England Club for the 10th time.
Federer was superb on Centre Court, holding serve easily in almost every game and breaking Murray at the end of each set. With the victory, the second-seeded Swiss improved his record in Wimbledon semifinals to 10-0.
On Sunday, Federer will face Djokovic in the final with title No. 8 on the line. Djokovic, a two-time Wimbledon champion, beat Federer in five sets in last year’s final.
