Rossville Pulls Abortion Ban
Rossville is pulling back on their abortion ban.
Mayor Teddy Harris told News 12 their city attorney determined the ordinance had "constitutionality issues."
Last month, the city council approved the ordinance that would outlaw abortion services in the city limits.
It would have needed to pass on a second reading for it to come into law.
Mayor Harris created the ordinance, and it drummed up a lot of controversy after he was quoted saying he didn’t want the drama of protestors that could come along with abortion clinics.
Mayor Harris said the ordinance was pulled indefinitely.
He declined an on camera interview.
