Runners prepare for the 56th annual “Chattanooga Chase” race
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)– Monday morning from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m, runners will line up to compete in the region’s oldest active road race called the “Chattanooga Chase.”
The race was established in 1968.
For the 56th year in a row, participants can choose to run an 8k at 8 a.m. or a 1-mile race at 10 a.m..
The competition travels through scenic and historic Riverview, on the North Shore.
This year marks a new partnership with Siskin Children’s Institute, who is the official beneficiary of the 1-mile race.
Thus far, participation in this year’s race has exceeded more than 1,000 runners, breaking the record for participation.
