Salvation Army celebrates 125 years with their 2018 Fundraising Banquet
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Salvation Army celebrated 125 years Thursday night with their 2018 fundraising banquet.
They thanked the many people who have given to the organization over the years.
Jonathan Evans, Chaplin for the Dallas Cowboys and former NFL fullback, spoke about the deeper meaning behind giving to an organization like the salvation army.
Evans says, “We are celebrating the Salvation Army which helps people answer that question I know you’re going through a lot I know you are homeless we want to meet those needs I know that there is an addiction and we want to meet those needs but on top of all of those struggles all of that homelessness I have a question for you are you a believer.”
His brother, famous gospel singer, Anthony Evans performed as well.
A donor funded this year’s event, meaning 100% of gifts made at this fundraising event will go to the Salvation Army.
