Scenic City ARK providing transportation to help needy people get to work

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) Scenic City ARK wants to provide transportation for people who may not have it to get back and forth to work.

Their goal is to give out bikes out to those who can’t afford other means of transportation.

People who are living paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford gas prices on top of their everyday expenses.

One man’s story inspired the founder of Scenic City ARK, Alan Cantrell, to help out.

"It stated when somebody that needed a bike that was walking 2 hours one way to work and 2 hours back after working 10 hours a day," Cantrell said. "A simple thing like a bicycle would solve a lot of problems for him, cut his travel time down to 30 minutes each way
