Search Warrant Leads to Drug Bust and Recovery of Stolen Items

MCMINN COUNTY — A McMinn County search warrant execution led to the recovery of stolen items along with a drug bust on January 12.

The McMinn Co Sheriffs Office and 10th Judicial Drug Task Force, assisted by the Monroe Co Sheriffs Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Tellico Plains, according to Sheriff Joe Guy.

Officers siezed methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms and explosives along with the stolen items related to a recent theft.

A suspect was arrested in Monroe by DTF and charges are pending in McMinn County, Guy continued.

“We appreciate the ongoing cooperation between our agencies to resolve crimes across county lines. Criminals don’t worry about county lines and city limits, and when it comes to investigating crimes, neither do we.”
