Sequatchie County Schools cancels after school program
SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — After 20 years, Sequatchie County Schools are closing the doors on after school programs.
Sequatchie County Schools announced on Facebook that they would not be offering the SOAR before-school and after-school programs this year.
This is due to the district not receiving funding for the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) grant for the 2024-2025 school year.
The cause of this was statewide federal budget cuts.
Sequatchie County Schools stated, “We are disappointed and realize that this greatly impacts families and staff that participated in our program.”
Other districts across the state that also participate in the 21st CCLC programs have also been impacted by these budget cuts.
