Sequatchie County Schools to dismiss early Friday

SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Sequatchie County Schools will be closing early on Friday due to a shortage of bus drivers.

The message on their website states that car riders will dismiss starting at 11:20 a.m. on Friday, October 6.

Buses will start loading at 11:30 a.m.

The school system says this is due to a lack of substitute bus drivers. The early dismissal is so that the schools can safely transport students.

“Important Message. Due to the lack of substitute bus drivers and in order to safely transport our student body, school will be dismissed early on Friday, October 6, 2023. Car riders will leave at 11:20 and buses will load starting at 11:30. Our top priority will always be the safety of our students. Make plans now for your child. Thank you for your understanding.”
