Several vehicles targeted at Jewish Center in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – Chattanooga police are investigating an act of arson that may have been motivated by prejudice.

According to a press release from the Chattanooga Police Department, two vehicles were set on fire outside the Jewish Cultural Center in the 5400 block of North Terrace.

Officers on scene reported that the vehicles were severely burned.

Due to the nature of the crime and the possibility that it may have been motivated by prejudice, Chattanooga Police have notified the FBI and the District Attorney’s Office.

Every law enforcement officer across Hamilton County have been notified about crime and there will now be increased patrols near and at local Jewish centers and houses of worship.
