Shepherd community homecoming celebration
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – You don’t have to be in high school to have a homecoming celebration.
But the Shepherd community did just that today.
Folks came out from across the state for a parade and homecoming presentation.
The Tyner Academy Marching Pride Band performed, and community leaders were recognized for their work.
This is an event they’ve been doing since 1979.
“It gives younger people a chance to see how the community has grown throughout the years, and what could be passed on to them in a positive manner, as opposed to all the negative things that you see going on in the Chattanooga area.” says Rickey Pasley, a resident.
Residents also celebrated the near-completion of a new bridge on Shepherd Road, off Highway 153.
