Sheriff’s deputies find 2 dead in Lake Tansi community

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said they found a man and woman dead from apparent gunshot wounds in Crossville.

It happened at a home in the Lake Tansi Community on Thursday, June 27.

At around 10 p.m., the Lake Tansi Security Office responded to the home at 5029 Shoshone Loop for a welfare check. Upon arrival, they found the man and woman dead unresponsive with gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s office identified the two deceased as 56-year-old Gary Agopsowicz and 56-year-old Angela Fifelski. They added that the two lived on that street together. It is unclear if they were living in the same home.

The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine their exact cause of death.

The sheriff’s office made this statement on the matter:

“We would like to assure the residents of Cumberland County that there is no threat to public safety and no reason for concern.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Gary Agopsowicz and Angela Fifelski. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.”

Cumberland County authorities will provide updates throughout the investigation.
