Sheriff’s Office: Two arrested for trafficking meth in Cherokee County
CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. (WDEF) — Cherokee County deputies arrested two people during a traffic stop after finding a trafficking amount of drugs in their vehicle.
Deputies were conducting a checking station on Goldie Garrett Road and NC-141 at around 10 p.m. on September 28. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office then released this information on October 27.
The sheriff’s office said one vehicle came through the checkpoint with an expired license plate.
K-9 Deputy Ellie had a positive alert on the vehicle after a free air sniff.
Deputies then detained the two occupants of the vehicle, who they identified as Jonathan Arthur McDonald and Keshia Nichole Frady.
They then searched the vehicle to find trafficking amounts of meth and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
McDonald and Frady face charges of trafficking meth by transport, trafficking meth by possession, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule 2 controlled substance.
Deputies booked them both on a $50,000 bond.
