Shooting victim arrives at hospital 12 hours after incident

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say officers were called to the 1200 block of Sheridan Avenue around 2:00 a.m.

Police say officers were unable to locate a victim at that location.

Chattanooga Police say they checked area hospitals and found no admissions with gunshot wounds.

At 2:11 p.m. – 12 hours after the initial call – police say they were informed of a gunshot victim arriving at a local hospital.

Investigators were able to connect the victim at the hospital to the 2:00 a.m. call.

Chattanooga Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Darryl Putman.

Police say the victims injuries are non-life-threatening.

The Violent Crimes Bureau is investigating.
