Shots fired determined to be false alarm

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police got a call Thursday that shots were fired at Memorial Hospital in Hixson. However, it turned out to be a false alarm.

The CPD responded to the call after a witness said they heard a pop. The witness thought that sound was a gunshot near the emergency entrance.

Officers investigated to make sure there was no threat to the hospital or community. They cleared the area where the shot was thought to be heard.

Chattanooga Police finally determined that there was no shooter and no threat.

They were still trying to determine what caused the concern.
