ShowerUp creates mobile shower event for homeless in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A free mobile shower pop-up, ShowerUp, is set to launch in Chattanooga on June 24 and 25.
ShowerUp is a nonprofit organization serving the homeless communities.
On June 24, the event will take place at the Faith Family Chattanooga Church at 2505 East 43rd Street from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
On June 25, it will be located at the sanctioned camp at 12th Street and Peeples Street from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
These events will provide free mobile showers, hygiene resources and personal care to those in need. ShowerUp says their mission is “building relationships, restoring hope, and demonstrating the love of God.”
The Restoration Outreach Center, Jireh’s Closet and Amen’d will provide free food and clothing during the event at the church on June 24.
“We are blessed to bring ShowerUp to Faith Family Chattanooga Church,” said Reginald Washington, pastor of the church. “ShowerUp embodies the power of compassion and dignity in action. As a community united by faith, we are dedicated to serving those experiencing homelessness and anyone in need with love, respect and practical support.”
Due to the organization being registered as a charity, the owner says ShowerUp relies on donations from those who wish to “shower grace, hope and love.”
