Signal Mountain Fire Displaces Family of Four

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Firefighters battled a house fire in cold temperatures last evening on Signal Mountain, after receiving a 911 call shortly after 9pm.

The Signal Mountain Fire Department responded to 11 Hidden Brook Lane, reporting heavy smoke pouring from the attic.

Fire crews immediately requested aid for additional manpower in getting the blaze under control, due to the unstable chimney and fire trapped in the vaulted ceiling.

There were no reported injuries. The family of four will be temporarily staying with friends.

The house suffered significant fire, smoke, and water damage; determined to be accidental. Officials reported the fire escaped the chimney and traveled throughout the attic.
