Silverdale Football Facing Many Questions

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) Confucius once said, “The one who knows all the answers, has not been asked all the questions.”
Silverdale football can relate because they have more questions than answers this season.
News 12’s Brian Armstrong takes the Seahawks into the 30-in-30 spotlight.

Silverdale Football lost multiple seniors last year, including star quarterback Brett Rogers. When losing so many seniors, team can question who they are. Silverdale Football is doing quite literally that.

Said head coach Mike Connor: I think if you’ll notice out there, they all have question marks on their chest. We’re trying to answer what is it about this group? And so I don’t have an answer to that.

This idea stemmed from senior running back Caleb Greco. He wanted the team to bring a tradition back so the team could find themselves.

Said Greco: Because I didn’t want people to think that we were the same team as last year. We’re a new team, we have new people that came up and we got to figure out who we are.

Said Connor: At Silverdale Football, we’re trying to build a unique culture. And so I put them in question mark shirts because I want them to understand the privilege it is to wear the Silverdale Seahawk gear.

Greco wanted his team to know that they are players where football is part of their life, not their whole life

Said Greco: For me it’s about identity. I think a lot of people find their identity in their performance and us as a team, we should find it incoming to the field with value instead of for value.

Said Connor:

These guys know that that field right there doesn’t add value to their life. They actually bring value to that field and so just have a different philosophy in how we play the game.
