Slide on Lookout Mountain closes road in Walker County
Plus Chattanooga area road closings
LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – The road off of Lookout Mountain into Pigeon Cove has been shut down by a landslide this afternoon.
It happened on Dougherty Gap Road.
Authorities report that the slope below the road bed slid, taking down some trees and making them concerned about the stability of the highway.
The road is now closed from the top to the Mountain Cove Farm store at the bottom.
And they will keep it shutdown until the rain stops so they can sent inspectors to check it out.
