Small gas price increase so far, but no panic from Colonial Pipeline explosion

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – So far, so good at the pumps following a second interruption of the Colonial gas pipeline to our area.

The explosion on Monday cut off the main pipeline serving the southeast, including Chattanooga and northwest Georgia.

The company hopes to re-open it by this weekend.

The Gasbuddy.com survey Wednesday morning of area gas prices shows a modest one cent rise in prices.

Prices jumped 3.9 cents in Georgia yesterday, but mostly in the Atlanta area.

Dalton prices only went up 1.1 cents to an average of $2.10 a gallon.

That’s still lower than it was last week.

And it is the same story in Chattanooga and Tennessee

Chattanooga prices rose 1.2 cents to $1.95 average (TN: 1.4 cents to $2.04)

But GasBuddy.com still found several dollar eighty prices around town on Wednesday morning and even a pair at $1.79.

$1.79 Mapco Hwy 153 & Gadd Rd

$1.79 Citgo Dayton Blvd near Gadd Rd

You can find the cheapest gas in town right now at gasbuddy.com
