Smuggling contraband into jail investigation

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Corrections Corporation of America has been investigating contraband coming into Silverdale for the past several months now.

The investigation lead to the indictments of former CCA employee and registered nurse, Crystal Whitthorne, former inmate Matt Holloway, and former inmate Chris Millsaps.

They were indicted for 10 counts of conspiracy to smuggle contraband into a penal facility.

Officials say former employees Joseph Steele II, Sherkina Adams, and Lucas Collins have also been arrested for similar charges in the past year.
