SoCon Honors Three UTC Women’s Golfers
SPARTANBURG, S.C.—Three Chattanooga Mocs women’s golfers were honored by the Southern Conference today. Senior Agathe Sauzon and junior Emily McLennan earned All-SoCon for the third straight year, while Megan Woods was tabbed to the All-Freshman squad.
Sauzon is the team leader in scoring. Her 74.70 average is just ahead of Emily McLennan’s 74.90 as she stands six strokes ahead of McLennan through 30 rounds. Woods posted 77.63 strokes per round improving as the season went on.
Sauzon had two top 5’s on the year including tying for fourth earlier this week at the SoCon Championships. She tallied five top 10’s overall and turned in top 15 finishes in seven of her last eight events.
McLennan also had two top 5’s, both coming in the last two tourneys. She ended up third at the SoCon Championships with a career-low and team season-best 2-under par 214.
Woods’ best finish came in the fall tying for 19th at Iowa’s Diane Thomason Invitational. Her stroke average in the fall was 78.40, but she beat that by nearly two strokes (76.67) in the spring. She just missed a top 20 with a season-best 227 (+11) tying for 21st at the SoCon Championships.
