CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County 911 Emergency Communications will soon be taking Soddy-Daisy emergency calls.

Soddy-Daisy City Manager Burt Johnson has said that they currently have six telecommunicators, but there is a need to increase that number by two or four soon.

This would cost up to an additional $350,000 annually.

However, with this consolidation, Johnson says that those funds can be used for the needs of Soddy-Daisy citizens instead.

“Consolidating our emergency communications with Hamilton County 9-1-1 is the best decision operationally and financially for the citizens of Soddy-Daisy,”
