Soddy Daisy Police and HSCO SWAT involved in standoff
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Soddy Daisy Police Department (SDPD) and The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office’s (HCSO) SWAT team were involved in a standoff.
Soddy Daisy officers responded to an aggravated assault call at 1:00 a.m. at the 100 block of Oakwood Drive.
This situation was severe enough to were SDPD requested assistance from HCSO.
The suspect was reported to have been drinking heavily, armed with multiple firearms, and threatened to kill himself and others in the residence.
The suspect also was heard threatening to kill any law enforcement who approached.
Along with the HCSO SWAT Team, the Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT) was also called to the scene.
Many attempts were made, but the suspect refused to comply with commands.
Eventually, after negotiations, Julian Causey was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Jail.
Multiple firearms including a shotgun and several handguns were recovered from the residence.
This incident is under investigation by SDPD.
