Soddy Daisy woman dies after early morning tragic accident
Soddy Daisy, Tenn. (WDEF) — A woman from Soddy Daisy died after a freak accident involving a brake caliper.
Autumn McClure and her boyfriend were driving her little brother to daycare when a brake caliper flew out of the bed of a truck in front of them, going through the vehicle’s windshield, and striking McClure in her chest neck area.
McClure’s family posted to Facebook that Autumn passed before emergency services could arrive.
Autumn attended Soddy Daisy High School where she graduated as the salutatorian of the Class of 2022.
She had already obtained an Associates Degree from Chattanooga State Community College, and was enrolled in their Graphics Design Program.
While mourning, McClure’s family is also bringing awareness to loose items in truck beds.
They ask people to please check items in the truck bed before driving, as it could be harmful to others if they were to fly out.
A service for Autumn is being held at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
