South Carolina Picked to Win Women’s SEC Basketball Title Over Lady Vols

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – South Carolina was picked to win a second straight Southeastern Conference women’s basketball championship at the league’s media day Tuesday.
The Gamecocks finished with 210 points in the media voting to finish ahead of Tennessee with 191. Texas A&M was third, followed by Kentucky, Vanderbilt Georgia and LSU.
Mississippi State was eighth followed by Florida and Auburn. Arkansas and Missouri were tied for 11th with Alabama and Mississippi taking the final two spots.
South Carolina’s Tiffany Mitchell was also picked to win league player of the year honors for a second consecutive season. The junior guard was joined on the preseason All-SEC team by Gamecock teammate Aleighsa Welch, Texas A&M’s Courtney Walker, Tennessee’s Isabelle Harrison and Mississippi State’s Martha Alwal.
