South Florida Ends Lady Mocs 40 Game Home Win Streak

The Chattanooga Lady Mocs rallied from a 10 point halftime deficit to lead by five, but couldn’t hold the lead, falling to South Florida 59-57. The loss snapped UTC’s national best 40 game home winning streak.
Ka’Vonne Towns scored the final 10 points of the night for the Lady Mocs, but her game winning three fell short at the buzzer.
Towns drained two three pointers to give UTC a 57-52 lead, but USF answered to tie it up, then took the lead for good on a pair of free throws from Shaleth Stringfield in the final minute.
Towns led all scorers with a career-high 18 points. Keiana Gilbert pitched in with a career-high of her own with 11 points in just her second collegiate game.
The loss was the first at home since the end of the 2010-11 season.
