South Pitt Back in a Familiar Spot Against a Familiar Foe
South Pittsburg, TN-(WDEF-TV) Despite a mid-season coaching change, South Pittsburg is still right where we’re used to seeing them this time of year, hosting a quarterfinal state playoff game.
The Pirates welcome 11-1 Gordonsville to town Friday night.
South Pitt coach Wes Stone says it’s almost like a tradition that these two teams play in the quarterfinals.
It’s happened weven times before.
Stone says South Pitt’s winning tradition has really helped calm the tumultuous year.
Said Stone:”If you’re somewhere that hasn’t been used to winning a lot or have the tradition rich program, things could go south in a hurry, and fortunately they haven’t. The only way I know to get better is to continue to go to work everyday, so I think we’ve continued to do that, and we’ve continued to build some momentum here late in the season, and I really feel like this football team is a different football team than it was two months ago.”
