South Pittsburg Coach Chris Jones Steps Down to Return to the CFL

South Pittsburg head football coach Chris Jones is stepping down immediately in order to return to coaching in the Canadian Football League.
According to media reports, he’s set to become the defensive coordinator for the Toronto Argonauts.

Jones was a long time CFL coach before taking the South Pitt job in April.

He even won the Grey Cup title in 2015 as the head coach of the Edmonton Eskimos.

Jones coached only one game for the Pirates, which was their season opening win over Sequatchie County.

COVID wiped out their last three contests.

South Pitt will turn to their assistants to lead the team.

The Pirates host Whitwell on Friday.
