Sparta man charged with homicide, police say

SPARTA, Tenn. (WDEF) — On Thursday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a White County man for a homicide.

The TBI and the White County Sheriff’s Office say the homicide happened Wednesday night.

Osie Nash, Jr. is being charged after the murder of an acquaintance and assault of another person, the TBI said.

The incident happened at the 200 block of Derossett Loop in Sparta.

Police said Nash shot and killed 66-year-old John Thomas Clouse.

They also said he pointed a gun at another man during a confrontation.

The TBI said they charged Nash with one count of second degree murder and one count of aggravated assault.

He is in custody of the White County Sheriff’s Office, according to officials.
