Spending Sunday Funday at the Chattanooga Market

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — In the heart of Downtown, vendors and visitors gather from all around in the Chattanooga Market.

The market originated in 2001 and has expanded to what it is today located in the First Horizon Pavilion. 22 years of history has made the market a Chattanooga favorite.

‘We started the first year of market in ‘01. It was a whole lot smaller than what it is now– where it’s gotten a little bit bigger every year,” Vendor Michael Hazelrig said.

Starting at 11 a.m. each Sunday, fresh produce, crafts, music, and much more is offered at the market.

“It’s just so big. And there’s food, there’s cheese, there’s plants, there’s jewelry, there’s purses, there’s leather, there’s anything you could possibly want but handmade,” Vendor Stephany Poe said.

The market is the region’s largest producer-only marketplace.

“I think Chattanooga’s just a great city that offers markets and festivals and other opportunities like this for small business owners. And it’s great because it helps people like myself get started and get on their feet and grow,” Vendor Daniel Reading said.

It’s always “Sunday Funday” with events going on until 4 p.m.
