St. Rep. Dan Howell picked the wrong cruise to take his wife on

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – Lawmakers often have to mend fences at work and at home after a long legislative session.

State Representative Dan Howell decided to take his wife on a cruise for her birthday.

But things didn’t go as planned, including an unscheduled stop in Juneau, Alaska.

They were on board the ship that is making national headlines when a husband was charged with beating his wife to death onboard.

Maybe the next time they’ll head to the Caribbean, instead.
