State Supreme Court suspends local attorney

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Tennessee Supreme Court has suspended a local lawyer claiming he poses a threat of harm to the public.

David Fulton handles bankruptcy and business law for a local firm.

The court says he misappropriated funds for his personal use.

So, they have suspended him immediately from the practice of law.

He has a month to end representation of any of his clients.

The court censured Fulton just last year over a bankruptcy filing, but that did not affect his ability to practice law.

The state Supreme Court can lift the suspension at a later date.
