Stolen vehicle stop leads to Attempted First Degree Murder of a Police Officer charge
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A man is facing multiple charges after deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) located a stolen Hyundai Sonata on Highway 58 on November 22, 2025.
After attempting to block the stolen vehicle, deputies conducted a felony stop of the vehicle, according to the HCSO.
They say after giving commands to the driver and performing apprehension efforts, the car accelerated towards the deputies and the deputies fired their service weapons, which struck the driver, according to the HCSO.
Hamilton County EMS responded to help treat the suspects injuries and the suspect was transported to Erlanger downtown.
According to the HCSO, the suspect identified himself as “Deez Nuts” when asked.
The suspect was later identified as Ta’Darius McDaniel, according to HCSO.
A second person in the vehicle was released without incident.
McDaniel is charged with:
- 2 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder of a Police Officer
- Theft of Property over $2500
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is investigating shooting.
