Dead deer found near crash on I-24, pedestrian struck

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Someone called the Chattanooga Police Department this morning to report that a vehicle struck an unknown object on I-24.
The caller said a vehicle hit an object on I-24 Westbound shortly after 4 a.m. on Friday morning.
The police department said a dead deer was found near the area of the crash.
The CPD said EMS located a deceased person on I-24 near the crash as well. They determined that the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
They did not identify the victim.
The police department said they temporarily shut down a portion of the interstate.
However, it has since reopened.
