Stuart Heights Residents Report Crime Increase

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – Some residents in Chattanooga’s historic Stuart Heights Neighborhood are reporting an increase in crime.

They tell us there have been several burglaries and attempted burglaries in recent weeks.

Neighbors we spoke with say they’re a part of the neighborhood association, and while they’re not overly worried at this point, they are taking extra precautions.

Kelly Summersett, a resident, says, "Be on the Facebook and report anything you think is suspicious, obviously. And I think getting to know your neighbors and exchanging phone numbers and understand what people’s schedules are. That’s what’s going to keep us all safe, if we just join in together and work as a team."
