Student brings handgun to Lake Forest Middle School
BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office was notified Saturday morning that a student brought a handgun to Lake Forest Middle School on Thursday, March 27.
An investigation was launched immediately, and the student was identified.
Charges have since been filed, but the student’s identity will not be released due to their age.
Authorities have confirmed that there are no ongoing threats to the school or its students.
Sheriff Steve Lawson and Bradley County Schools Director Dr. Linda Cash have reiterated that the safety and security of students and staff remain the highest priority.
Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the importance of reporting any safety concerns to a School Resource Officer (SRO), teacher, or school administrator.
