Student to be charged following North Elementary threat investigation
A student will be charged following an investigation into threats made against other students at North Elementary School, they say.
North Elementary School says on March 12, school officials learned “a student had allegedly developed a plan to harm several other students at the school.”
They say they contacted law enforcement and officers with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) investigated these claims.
They say based on the investigation, “the threat was able to be substantiated.”
North Elementary School says that under the Tennessee Code Annotated and Grundy County Board of Education policy, “any substantiated threat of mass violence is considered a zero-tolerance offense.”
“A zero-tolerance offense results in a student being expelled from the regular school program for a minimum of one calendar year and the student may be assigned to an alternative school or program…”
