CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF-TV) – Remember back in elementary school when you were trying to get everything together for that first day in class?
Some Chattanooga students got a helping hand with that this morning.
It’s backpack day.
Volunteers at Hardy Elementary school this morning had stuffed backpacks for all.
It was the 14th year for the presentation..
And it’s all thanks to contributions from 20 different churches and organizations.

"This is the best day of the year for us because we work hard all year to make sure the kids get school supplies the first week of school. So this is better than making the donuts day..this is d-day."
Eleven Hamilton county schools take part in the backpack program every August.
