Summerville water flowing again
Sand bags available for this weekend
SUMMERVILLE, Georgia (WDEF) – After a week of water insecurity from the weekend flooding, Summerville is finally getting some of its water back.
The water system had been knocked out by the record flooding.
But by Friday, city officials announced that some water was pumping through the system again.
However, even if you do get water at your house, they still want you to boil it first before consuming.
They will lift the boil water advisory when testing shows the water is totally clear.
Meanwhile, the city will continue to distribute bottled water this weekend at City Hall.
There is also concerned that more rain is in the forecast for the weekend.
Concerned citizens can find supplies for filling sandbags if you think you need them at the garage on Henry Street.
They have the sand and the bags, but you will need to fill them.
