Suspect arrested after threatening Niota Elementary School
MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A suspect was arrested after making threatening statements toward Niota Elementary School September 11, 2024.
The McMinn County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Niota Elementary School administrators were made aware of a suspect near the school making threatening statements towards the school.
MCSO posted on Facebook that they responded to the school and secured everyone inside.
During this time, deputies also notified the local Homeland Security Agent, and were able to obtain the suspects residence, County Road 255.
McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy stated in the post, “With 15 minutes of receiving the call, our deputies and the Homeland Security Agent had the suspect identified and in custody.”
Sheriff Guy went onto say it was also determined the suspect also made threatening social media posts.
Joshua Webb was arrested and transported to the McMinn County Jail.
Webb is being charged with Making Threats of Mass Violence on School Property.
