Suspect charged in Chattanooga business burglary
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – 25-year-old Nicholas C Parks has been charged with theft of property, burglary, and vandalism after an incident at La Carniceria.
On December 13, 2017 at approx 11:30 p.m. the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a business burglary at 1500 Broad St. (La Carniceria).
Upon arrival Neighborhood Patrol officers located the business door open and searched the building to ensure that the suspect was no longer on scene.
The responding officers determined that the suspect had entered the building by creating a hole in the roof, causing extensive damage.
Video footage from inside the business provided officers and investigators with an accurate description of the suspect.
Using this information, Chattanooga Police officers patrolled the area and were able to stop a suspicious vehicle nearby. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the suspect, 25-year-old Nicholas Parks, seen in the security camera footage.
Evidence was collected from the vehicle which placed the suspect at the scene.
Through hard work and dedication these Neighborhood Patrol officers were able to respond to the scene, obtain an accurate description of the suspect, identify him and execute an arrest within an hour of the crime being committed.
