Suspect charged with assaulting, hitting victim with his vehicle

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have arrested a suspect in a serious assault just after midnight on Tuesday.

It happened in the 5400 block of Mountain Creek Road, at the northern end above Red Bank.

A 36-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Chattanooga Police investigators believe that the suspect attacked him, then got into a vehicle and hit him again.

They are charging Matthew Reynolds attempted murder and a variety of other charges.

His full list of charges include:

  • Theft of property
  • Burglary of auto (x2)
  • Attempted first-degree murder
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Evading arrest
  • Resisting arrest or obstruction of legal process
