SWAT standoff ends in East Lake Courts

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A standoff at the East Lake Courts ended after several hours.

It began with a call about shots fired in the area on Tuesday afternoon.

Chattanooga Housing Authority surveillance video showed two people in a shootout at East Lake Courts. Police say one person got away in a car and the other ran into an apartment. They do not know if the person lives there.

Officers called out a CPD negotiation unit and the SWAT team to get the suspect out.

The situation ended when police entered the building and the suspect was not there.

Police have not released the names of the two suspects.
