Sweetwater Police investigating Powell Avenue homicide
SWEETWATER, Tenn. (WDEF) — Sweetwater Police (SWPD) are investigating a homicide that occurred on Powell Avenue.
Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Powell Avenue for a fight report.
Upon arrival, Tony Paramo approached officers with his hands raised.
Paramo told officers he was armed.
Officers were able to secure the firearm from Paramo.
Paramo also informed officers that a shooting occurred.
Officers found a deceased male and an intoxicated individual inside the residence.
The intoxicated individual was later identified as Christian Perez-Sanchez.
Sanchez resisted arrest while officers attempted to detain him.
Evidence from the preliminary investigation revealed an argument escalated between roommates.
This led to Paramo retrieving and eventually shooting a firearm, killing a 23-year-old male.
Paramo has been arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm during commission of a dangerous felony.
Sanchez has been charged with resisting arrest.
This investigation is still ongoing.
