Take a Close-up Look at the Walnut Street Bridge Developments

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — City officials are giving us a close-up look at the work they’re doing on the Walnut Street Bridge.

The Bridge has been shut down to re-paint, sandblast, rewire and replace the decking on the bridge.

They’re working from the northside to the downtown area.

Crews hope to finish putting down the Alaskan cedar wood decking in the coming weeks.

They are putting the barrier around the second half of Span 3 this week for sandblasting, priming and painting.

City officials say they are on schedule for a grand reopening of the pedestrian bridge in September.
