Tax suspension goes into effect in Georgia
RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) — Gas prices dropped across Georgia as the governor’s new tax suspension went into effect on Wednesday.
The tax suspension should cut prices by around 31 cents a gallon over the next month.
We checked prices today in Ringgold and Fort Oglethorpe and found they were already down about twenty cents.
Rossville lawmaker Mike Cameron applauds the Governor’s action.
“What this does, it puts money back in the hands of taxpayers, working families, senior citizens… Every dollar matters,” Cameron said.
Cameron added that, along with many others, the trucking industry will be greatly affected by this new suspension.
He encourages people to take advantage of this tax suspension and to realize the effect this will have on the economy.
Governor Kemp says he is taking the action to help Georgia families deal with record breaking inflation.
The gas tax suspension will last through October 12.
