TBI: Corrections officer found with child sex abuse material

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — An Anderson County corrections officer has lost his job and been arrested on several charges, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. One of those was having child sexual abuse materials.

The TBI began investigating David Antonio Berruquin, 28, on April 5.

Agents said Berruquin had contraband material inside the detention facility while working as a corrections officer.

Additionally, the TBI found that he had child sex abuse material.

TBI agents obtained arrest warrants on April 12 and arrested him on April 13.

They charged him with possession of a telecommunications device in a penal institution and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Authorities booked him into the Anderson County Jail on a $100,000 bond, the TBI said.

He is no longer employed by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
