TBI: Decatur woman arrested for intentionally starting house fire
MEIGS COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Meigs County deputies and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) have arrested a woman for intentionally setting a house on fire last week.
The TBI said they arrested 45-year-old Laura Huckabey on two counts of aggravated arson.
Authorities were investigating a house fire in the 19,000 block of North Nopone Valley Road in Decatur. They began the investigation on October 10.
Investigators say the fire was intentionally set. Two people were home at the time of the fire as well, according to the TBI.
After an investigation, they determined that Huckabey set the fire.
Meigs County deputies then arrested her on October 14. They booked her into the Meigs County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
The TBI did not state whether the fire caused any injuries.
