TCAT Chattanooga prepares for SkillsUSA competition

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – SkillsUSA state competition is coming to Chattanooga and the TCAT Chattanooga Lookouts for Hope team is ready to compete!

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology specializes in technical trade education which helps students earn a certificate that can move them up in their careers. This includes trade classes on welding, cosmetology, electrical, and more. Darrion Mason, Drake Boyd, and Derek Dunn are part of the barbering program that will be competing in Skills USA.

The SkillsUSA competition where different technical schools around the nation gather to compete in a variety of technical fields. This year, TCAT is participating in a community service project called Lookouts for Hope where they are giving back the community by providing haircuts to Orchard Knob students.

The team is hoping to gather support from their community as they prepare for their competition at the Chattanooga Convention Center next week!
